Bromley Valley Invitational - May 2007 RICHMOND ACROBATS WIN THE BROMLEY VALLEY INVITATIONAL FOR THE 2nd YEAR RUNNING Gymnasts compete in teams made up by one pair, one trio & two tumblers. All scores are added together and the final mark decides the Team trophy. Individual trophies are given for highest scoring pair, highest scoring trio & highest scoring tumbler.
Richmond wiped the board this year. Our Team A won the overall trophy and our Team B came 2nd beating teams from Heathrow, Bromley Valley, Croyden & Camden. Clara Nutting & Emilia Bjerke won the highest scoring pair trophy and Christie Wong won the highest scoring tumbler trophy. Congratulations to all our gymnasts who all came home with a medal and well done to Imogen Mazzier for stepping in as a base of a trio & learning a full routine the day before the competition because the original base Hrissy Genov sustained an injury. Well done also to Flora Scott who took Imogen’s place as a tumbler in the same team. Both of them were rewarded for their hard work with a silver medal.

RGA winners of Carita house team trophy
9
GOLDS, 5 SILVERS, 3 BRONZE
HIGHEST SCORING MIXED PAIR
The Regionals this year proved to be a very successful competition for the club, as it was the first time we have ever one the Carita House team trophy, managing to beat Bromley, the holders of the trophy for the last 4 or 5 years! The trophy is awarded to the club with the highest team score, the score is calculated by a sliding scale of gymnasts being placed in 1st, 2nd & 3rd position. Therefore RGA was the best club in the 2007 Regionals.
There were many partnerships that were competing in their first ever Regionals and they all coped well with the pressures. We qualified in 3 events for the National Finals, with 2 other partnerships very close to qualifying.
The following gymnasts all won gold at the Regionals and will represent London at the National finals:
|
|
Grade 1 Women’s Pair – Vikki
Boyce & Lara Johnson Grade 1 Mens Group – Lewis Walker, Tian Scott, William Gibson & Charlie Duncan Grade 2 Mixed Pair – Lewis Walker & Aureliane Pierret |
A massive well done must go to William Duncan who managed to compete in two disciplines with a broken finger.
All the coaches would like to say a huge congratulation to all our gymnasts and thank you to everyone that helped at the competition.
