Richmond wiped the board this year. Our Team A won the overall trophy and our Team B came 2nd beating teams from Heathrow, Bromley Valley, Croydon & Camden. Clara Nutting & Emilia Bjerke won the highest scoring pair trophy and Christie Wong won the highest scoring tumbler trophy.

Congratulations to all our gymnasts who all came home with a medal and well done to Imogen Mazzier for stepping in as a base of a trio & learning a full routine the day before the competition because the original base Hrissy Genov sustained an injury. Well done also to Flora Scott who took Imogen’s place as a tumbler in the same team. Both of them were rewarded for their hard work with a silver medal.

Disabilities

On the 4th May, 8 boys from Orleans Park School came to RGA for the first of our special try-out sessions for children with disabilities. The boys had varying levels of social & learning disabilities and find their normal sports classes intimidating. One child was wheelchair bound and the gym was certainly a positive environment for him. It was a great success. They are very interested to try again, and Kayleigh is going to organise another session with them before the summer holidays if possible.

The next session is on Friday 25th May. Children from Oaklands School will be attending a 45-minute session. This school is specifically special needs, and Kayleigh is going to get a list of children & their disabilities before they come in order to tailor the session to their needs.
